Ankur is a watch lover first, and a retailer second. As the founder of Swiss Timepieces Nepal, he built the store out of a deep love for horology and a lifelong passion for watches. His journey into the world of timepieces began at a young age, growing up surrounded by watches, and it was here that his obsession took root.

His watch journey officially began with the purchase of his first watch, a Seamaster, bought with the salary from his first job after completing his education. This marked the beginning of a passionate love affair with collecting that quickly led him into the expansive world of watches. Over the years, Ankur has experienced and owned countless timepieces, with his collection evolving and maturing with his ever-growing knowledge and appreciation for the craft.

Ankur Jhunjhunwala's passion doesn’t just live in his own collection. He’s an active participant in the global watch community, attending prestigious watch fairs year after year to meet brand owners, fellow collectors, and enthusiasts from around the world. He’s built lasting friendships with many in the community, becoming a key member of global watch collectors’ groups and regularly attending and organizing meetups, both locally and internationally.

His discerning eye for beautiful, well-finished watches is evident in his collection. Ankur's collecting philosophy centers on pieces that exhibit exceptional craftsmanship, especially those with exquisite movement finishes. Among his grail pieces are the Gronefeld Principia, Lange Datograph, and FP Journe Reserve de Marche, which represent the pinnacle of his taste and standards.

Ankur’s love for watches extends beyond his own collection. It drives his work as a retailer, where his passion informs every aspect of the business at Swiss Timepieces Nepal. In addition to his role as a retailer, Ankur’s passion for horology led him to establish the Nepalese Watch Enthusiasts community, Nepal’s first and only group for passionate watch collectors. Through this group, he has brought together collectors from all over the country and organized multiple local watch meetups, fostering strong bonds within the community.
