Our Story
Swiss Timepieces is a store for watch lover first, and a retailer second. Our story is built on three generations of dedication to the world of fine watches. With over 80 years of combined experience and knowledge, we have developed a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship, history, and artistry. Our philosophy is simple: treat every customer the way we would want to be treated when buying a watch. We believe that purchasing a timepiece should be a personal, enjoyable, and memorable experience built on trust, honesty, and genuine guidance. More than a watch store, Swiss Timepieces Nepal is a place where enthusiasts and collectors can share in our passion for horology. We love engaging with our clients, exchanging knowledge, and helping people discover the stories behind the watches they wear. Our goal has never been simply to sell watches. We strive to create a community where conversations flourish, knowledge is shared, and a lifelong appreciation for fine watchmaking continues to grow.
As the founder of Swiss Timepieces Nepal, Ankur built the store out of a deep love for horology and a lifelong passion for watches.
Ankur Jhunjhunwala's passion doesn’t just live in his own collection. He’s an active participant in the global watch community, attending prestigious watch fairs year after year to meet brand owners, fellow collectors, and enthusiasts from around the world. He’s built lasting friendships with many in the community, becoming a key member of global watch collectors’ groups and regularly attending and organizing meetups, both locally and internationally. His keen eye for quality and authenticity allows him to source exceptional timepieces for his clients, ensuring that each piece is authentic and meticulously curated. He’s also dedicated to helping clients who may have fallen out of love with their pre-owned watches, guiding them to new pieces that will reignite their passion.
His discerning eye for beautiful, well-finished watches is evident in his collection. Ankur's collecting philosophy centers on pieces that exhibit exceptional craftsmanship, especially those with exquisite movement finishes. Among his grail pieces which he wants to own someday are the Gronefeld Principia, Lange Datograph, and FP Journe Reserve de Marche, which represent the pinnacle of his taste and standards.
In addition to his role as a retailer, Ankur’s passion for horology led him to establish the Nepalese Watch Enthusiasts community, Nepal’s first and only group for passionate watch collectors. Through this group, he has brought together collectors from all over the country and organized multiple watch meetups, fostering strong bonds within the community.
